An ewer (ibrik) is a lidded, handled vessel with a slender neck and wide body, traditionally used for holding liquids such as water or sherbet. In Ottoman culture, ewers were used not only for washing hands and face, but also in different forms for serving beverages—especially in palace kitchens and elite households.

The motifs on the Dynasty Ewer reinterpret the geometric and botanical ornamentation of a 17th-century silver incense burner preserved in the collection of Topkapı Palace, transforming historical metalwork patterns into refined decorative reliefs.

The handle of the Dynasty Ewer is finished in tombak, a traditional Ottoman gilding technique. In this method, finely shredded 24-carat gold is fully dissolved in mercury, then carefully filtered and brush-applied onto the surface to be gilded. The piece is then heated at low temperature to allow the mercury to evaporate, leaving a rich gilded layer behind.

Crafted from handmade glass, the Dynasty Ewer is decorated entirely by hand: all raised relief patterns are meticulously finished with 24-carat gold gilding and glass paints, showcasing exceptional artisanal mastery.
