The Esrefoglu Mosque was built between 1296 and 1299 and is considered one of the most outstanding examples of Anatolian Seljuk religious architecture. What makes the mosque especially valuable is its largely original wooden structure, as well as the exceptionally rich and masterful painted ornamentation applied across its surfaces.

The mosque ceiling is particularly striking with its vivid painted decorations and motifs created using natural root dyes. A tile mosaic mihrab and a minbar crafted in the kundekari woodworking technique are among its most important decorative elements. Notably, it is regarded as the only monument that preserves the complete range of architectural and artistic features traditionally found in Seljuk Great Mosques.

The motifs on this vase are inspired by the patterns of the mosque's tile mosaic mihrab, reinterpreting its decorative language through glass. The Esrefoglu Mosque was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2011.

Crafted from handmade turquoise-green glass, the vase features raised relief motifs meticulously hand-decorated using gold gilding and antique-effect paints, showcasing exceptional artisanal craftsmanship.
