A flask is a portable vessel traditionally used during military service or travel—carried around the neck or attached to the waist—made mostly of metal or ceramic, and often covered with materials such as felt (aba), fabric, or leather, to provide protection and durability. These vessels were used to carry water or beverages on the move.
The Wanderer’s Flask was created in inspiration of an original leather flask preserved in the Arms and Armour Collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. The original piece is recorded with the date 1581.
The Traveler’s Flask is crafted from handmade glass, and all raised relief motifs are meticulously hand-decorated using 24-carat gold gilding, showcasing refined craftsmanship and historical inspiration.
