The Seven Sleepers Vase is a contemporary interpretation on caramel-toned glass, inspired by an original calligraphic work dated 1903, created by the renowned calligrapher Hüseyin Satı Efendi. In the original composition, the names of the Seven Sleepers and their dog were written in the elegant Thuluth (Sülüs) script—now reimagined as a timeless decorative statement.

The legend of the Seven Sleepers holds an important place in both Islamic and Christian traditions. The story tells of seven young believers who fled the ظلم (oppression) of their era’s ruler and took refuge in a cave together with their dog, where they miraculously slept for 300 years, awakening centuries later.

In Islamic tradition, the names of the Seven Sleepers—Yemlina, Mislina, Mekselina, Mernuş, Debernuş, Sazenuş, and Kefeştatayuş—along with the name of their dog Kıtmir, are referenced in the Surah Al-Kahf of the Qur’an.

Crafted from handmade caramel-colored glass, the Seven Sleepers Vase features raised relief motifs that are meticulously hand-decorated using 24-carat gold gilding, bringing sacred narrative, calligraphic heritage, and refined craftsmanship together in one collectible piece.
