  • The Mysians, who lived on the lands of Pergamon, used helmets in battle that represented their people. The details and ornamentation on these helmets also served as identifiers, indicating which military unit a soldier belonged to. In the legends of the Trojan War, the Mysians are described as fighting on the side of the Trojans.

Helmets, among the earliest close-defense objects used throughout history to protect a warrior's head from blows, have long held an important place in museum and private collections. Beyond their defensive purpose, helmets were also valued as symbols of prestige and power, enhancing magnificence during state ceremonies and military processions.
