The Pergamon Zeus Altar, also known simply as the Zeus Altar, is a monumental victory monument commissioned by the King of Pergamon to immortalize the victories won against the Galatians (Celts) between 165 and 156 BC. The monument was dedicated to Zeus, the chief deity of Greek mythology, and to his daughter Athena, the goddess of war and wisdom.

The marble altar is renowned for its masterfully carved reliefs depicting the legendary Gigantomachy (Battle of the Giants). This object reinterprets one of the most dramatic scenes among the altar reliefs - the composition in which Zeus is positioned at the center, portrayed in triumph.

In this battle scene between Zeus and the Giants, the figures are arranged chronologically across multiple glass layers, creating depth and narrative movement. The defeated Giants are positioned in the background, while Zeus - destined to emerge victorious in all his magnificence - stands in the foreground.

Today, the Pergamon Zeus Altar is exhibited in Germany at the Pergamon Museum. The raised relief motifs on this object are meticulously hand-decorated using gold and antique-effect paints. The base is made of beige marble, completing the piece with a monumental presence.
