May Allah grant peace.

After the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, Sultan Mehmed II (Fatih Sultan Mehmed) commissioned the construction of a mosque and a mausoleum at the site of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (Eyüp Sultan). Over time, this sacred area became a major spiritual center of the Islamic world. Its significance was further elevated by the Ottoman tradition of Sword-Girding ceremonies, held here for newly enthroned sultans.

The Eyüp Sultan Inscription Vase features the sacred phrase “Lā ilāha illā Allāh” (“There is no god but Allah”), inspired by a historic tombstone from within the Eyüp Sultan Tomb complex. In Islamic belief, this declaration is the essence of Tawhid (Divine Unity) and forms the foundation of a Muslim’s faith. It is traditionally associated with seven principles that express true internalization of monotheism: knowledge, certainty, acceptance, sincerity, truthfulness, love, and submission—reflecting complete devotion to Allah’s guidance.

The vase takes its form from the turban, symbolizing dignity and spiritual refinement. Crafted from handmade caramel-colored glass, the Eyüp Sultan Inscription Vase is finished with raised relief motifs that are meticulously hand-decorated using 24-carat gold gilding, showcasing exceptional artisanal craftsmanship and sacred heritage.
