The refined mastery of Seljuk and Ottoman-era architecture—defined by elegance, monumental craftsmanship, and sophisticated design—has left an enduring imprint on cultural heritage and the universal language of art. Its most exquisite expressions appear on monumental portals, city and palace walls, and across the architectural details of mosques and madrasas: courtyards and main entrances, column capitals, minaret balconies, mihrabs, pulpits, fountains, sebils, and ablution fountains. Brought to life through geometric interlaces, intricate knotwork, vegetal ornamentation, animal figures in low and high relief, palmettes, and countless other refined motifs, this stone artistry also found one of its richest non-architectural expressions in tombstones, where stone became a canvas of memory.
One of Anatolia’s most inspiring landmarks of stone craftsmanship is Hasankeyf, a place where mastery in stonework has been preserved and honored across centuries. Like poets or painters, artisans carved their emotions, hopes, joys, sorrow, and pain into stone—defining, in the truest sense, what it means to earn one’s living through stone. Their legacy continues to illuminate the present and inspire the future. This piece is presented as a tribute—with deep respect to the masters of stone artistry and to Hasankeyf itself.
Inspired by the monumental portal relief of the Al-Rizq Mosque, dating to the Ayyubid period, this vase reinterprets a stone carving composition featuring inscriptions from the Asma al-Husna (The Most Beautiful Names of Allah). The decorative patterns—presented without text—are also reflected in natural travertine stone, reinforcing the dialogue between architecture, material heritage, and contemporary design.
Crafted from handmade glass, the vase features raised relief motifs meticulously hand-decorated with glass paints, showcasing exceptional artisanal craftsmanship.
