Myra, one of the most important cities of the ancient Lycian world, remained renowned throughout the Middle Ages as the episcopal seat of Saint Nicholas - widely known today as Santa Claus. Born into a wealthy family, Saint Nicholas devoted his life to acts of kindness, especially toward children, and his legacy helped preserve Myra's fame for centuries.

The city, whose name is interpreted as "the place of the Great Mother Goddess," was first established on the hill above the rock-cut tombs visible today. The rock tombs of Myra feature reliefs that offer valuable insight into local funerary traditions and beliefs.

This vase is decorated with motifs inspired by the rock tombs of Myra as well as the masks located at the entrance of the ancient city. The Ancient Cities of the Lycian Civilization were included in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2009.

Crafted from handmade opal mink-colored glass, the Myra Vase is finished with decorative motifs meticulously hand-applied using gold and antique-effect paints, showcasing exceptional artisanal craftsmanship.
