As the capital of the Hittite Empire (1800-1200 BC), Hattusa is a unique archaeological site unlike any other in the world, as it was the center of a distinctive and highly developed culture. Excavations in the region have revealed five cultural layers, containing remains from the Hatti, Assyrian, Hittite, Phrygian, Galatian, Roman, and Byzantine periods.

The imagery on this vase is inspired by the Inandik Vase, dated to around 1600 BC, from the Old Kingdom period of the Hittites. Across its four friezes, the original artifact depicts scenes believed to represent a sacred marriage ceremony, featuring musicians, acrobat dancers, and ritual performers. Instruments shown in the scenes include the handled lute, cymbals, and the lyre.

The original Inandik Vase was discovered at Inandiktepe in Cankiri and is now exhibited at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in Ankara. Hattusa, the Hittite Capital, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1986.

Crafted from handmade smoky green glass, the Inandik Vase features decorative motifs meticulously hand-applied using gold, platinum, and antique-effect paints, showcasing exceptional artisanal craftsmanship.
