Be victorious.

In the Islamic world, weapons carried a profound meaning—seen not only as instruments of conquest, but also as objects worthy of reverence and protection. For this reason, they were carefully preserved and often adorned with protective inscriptions and exceptionally fine craftsmanship. The tradition of engraving invocations and sacred words onto weapons became widespread, both as a spiritual safeguard and a mark of prestige.

In Ottoman art, tabars (teber)—ceremonial axes—were especially renowned for their magnificence. The splendor of gold inlay metalwork, inscriptions, and intricate botanical and geometric ornamentation elevated these objects beyond weaponry, allowing them to be recognized as true works of art.

The Aziz Tabar was designed in inspiration of a 16th–17th century silver tabar with gold gilding, preserved in the Topkapı Palace Sultan Arms Collection. The piece bears the mirrored inscription “Al-‘Aziz” in symmetrical form.

One of the 99 Names of Allah, Al-‘Aziz signifies absolute might, honor, and invincibility—the One who cannot be overcome, the One who is eternally victorious, possessing infinite glory.

Crafted from handmade glass, the Aziz Tabar features raised relief motifs that are meticulously hand-decorated using 24-carat gold and gilding, showcasing exceptional artisanal mastery and sacred symbolism.
